‘This is sad’ Boilermakers fans receive unexpected heart-breaking news involving 5-star super talent

It appears that Purdue is no longer in the running for five-star prospect and in-state talent. He had initially planned to make an official visit to West Lafayette this weekend but has since canceled that trip.

Kyle Neddenriep of The Indianapolis Star reported on Friday that Haralson has also canceled visits to both Kansas and Missouri.

Haralson has already visited Indiana, Michigan State, and Notre Dame this fall, along with a previous trip to Auburn.

Earlier this week, he mentioned to 247Sports that he was close to making a decision and had hoped his visit to Purdue would provide more clarity. With the cancellation of that trip, it seems the five-star recruit is narrowing down his options.

“I feel like whenever I have that gut feeling that I’ll know,” Haralson said, per 247Sports. “I’m getting close to that decision and I think that I will make it really soon. I don’t know the exact date yet but I think it will be really soon after I get back from the Purdue visit.”

While there’s no official confirmation yet, it appears that Indiana, Michigan State, and Notre Dame are the frontrunners to land La Lumiere prospect Jalan Haralson.

Ranked as the No. 14 overall prospect in the 2025 recruiting class, Haralson is considered the top player from Indiana. The 6-foot-6 wing started his career at Fishers High School before transferring to La Lumiere in LaPorte.

As a freshman, he averaged 16.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. He made a significant leap in his sophomore year, posting averages of 23.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.1 steals per contest.
