The VCU Rams have made a significant addition to their 2025 recruiting class with the commitment another talented star player
A standout from Woodside, Virginia, has been impressive on the AAU circuit with Boo Williams. His performance at Peach Jam, where he averaged a double-double with 10.0 points and 11.6 rebounds per game, drew national attention from college coaches.
Standing 6-foot-8, he chose VCU due in part to the strong connection he felt with the coaching staff and their confidence in his potential. Head coach Ryan Odom’s focus on player development and allowing athletes to shine was a key factor in Barksdale’s decision.

Barksdale’s commitment offers a solid foundation for VCU’s future, bringing size, skill, and a strong work ethic to the team. The Rams are also pursuing other top recruits, such as Chance Mallory, Jake West, and Matt Gilhool, as they seek to build a competitive squad in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
With Barksdale joining the roster, VCU fans can anticipate an exciting future as the Rams continue to rise in the college basketball scene.
