BREAKING: ‘This is sad’ Buffalo Sabres fans receive unexpected heart-breaking news involving 24-year-old gifted player

Buffalo Sabres  24-year-old  will be sidelined indefinitely due to a lower-body injury, head coach Lindy Ruff announced on Wednesday.

Ruff described the injury as “pretty strong” but did not go into specifics. He added that Samuelsson is not expected to require surgery.

He sustained the injury during Monday’s 7-5 loss to Montreal, when a Canadiens player collided with his leg. It was Samuelsson’s first game back after being a healthy scratch for three games as part of Ruff’s effort to make roster changes.

Ruff indicated that leading scorer Tage Thompson and goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen are both day-to-day, with the possibility of playing on Thursday when Buffalo faces the St. Louis Blues. Thompson was unable to return to Monday’s game after suffering a lower-body injury.

Luukkonen started against Montreal despite battling what Ruff described as an undisclosed ailment. He was pulled after allowing four goals on 18 shots through two periods.
