Bills star player is set to leave Buffalo, with today being his final day on the roster.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, he will be released today. Given his limited playing time this season—only seven defensive snaps and 13 special teams snaps—it’s unlikely any team will trade for him.
Edwards, 28, spent last season with the Chiefs, where he played 57% of the defensive snaps and 28% on special teams. In 2022, he was a starter for the Buccaneers. It wouldn’t be surprising if one of those teams were to sign him once he clears waivers.
A third-round pick by the Buccaneers in 2019, Edwards has earned two Super Bowl rings, one with Tampa Bay and another with Kansas City.
