BREAKING: Alabama fans receive more bad news as Keon Sabb, and 3 other top prospect will be out of play for some weeks.. Coach Kalen DeBoer

After losing to the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday, the Alabama Crimson Tide dropped to No. 15 in both the AP and Coaches Polls, marking their lowest ranking since November 2010.

During Monday’s media session, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer discussed the team’s performance and provided updates on several injured players.

Alabama Defensive Back Zabien Brown (2) in action against South Carolina at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, AL on Saturday, Oct 12, 2024.

Defensive back Keon Sabb suffered an injury with just over five minutes left in the first half and was listed as “probable” leading up to the game. Trainers attended to his lower leg, and while he returned for the second half, he was seen wincing on the sideline early in the third quarter.

“He has a lower-extremity injury…we expect him to be out for a while,” DeBoer stated. Bray Hubbard will take over his position.

Three other defensive backs were injured during the game: Red Morgan, DeVonta Smith, and Zabien Brown.

Morgan came off the field holding his hamstring after attempting to defend a deep pass that was ultimately overthrown, and he did not return. Smith also exited after Tennessee’s late first-quarter drive and later rode an exercise bike on the sideline, but he did not re-enter the game either.

Brown played limited snaps against the Volunteers; DeBoer did not specify his injury but indicated it’s not serious.

DeBoer expects Morgan, Smith, and Brown to be available for the upcoming home game against Missouri this Saturday.

He also mentioned quarterback Jalen Milroe, who seemed a bit injured during the Tennessee matchup.

“At this point in the year, most players with significant playing time are dealing with something. There’s nothing preventing him from going out there and helping us win.”

Like the other defensive backs except for Sabb, DeBoer anticipates Milroe will be ready for the game against the No. 21 Missouri Tigers on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 2:30 p.m. CT at Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
