Exciting News for Penn State Fans: James Franklin Confirms Shocking Addition Ahead of USC Game

Good news for Penn State fans: head coach James Franklin stated he “expects” star running back Nick Singleton to be ready for the Nittany Lions’ game against USC this week.

Franklin explained that Singleton was limited in practice last Thursday and Friday before being a last-minute scratch for the game against UCLA. He noted that while the staff believed Singleton would play that Saturday, he wasn’t at full strength.

Looking ahead, Franklin is optimistic about Singleton’s availability against USC, provided there are no setbacks. The Nittany Lions could certainly use him, especially since the Trojans rank low in run defense, sitting 17th out of 18 in the Big Ten.

USC has allowed an average of 158.6 rushing yards per game this season, while Penn State ranks third in the conference with 217.8 rushing yards per game. Singleton averages 102 rushing yards and 18.5 receiving yards per game this season, having scored five touchdowns (three rushing and two receiving) across four games. In his absence last Saturday, Kaytron Allen stepped up, carrying the ball 21 times for 78 yards.
