The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly considering a trade for Tennessee Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins if he becomes available before the trade deadline, according to ESPN’s Dan Graziano. The Steelers are already exploring the wide receiver market and have shown interest in Las Vegas Raiders star Davante Adams.
Graziano mentioned, “I would anticipate the Steelers pursuing both Davante Adams and DeAndre Hopkins if he’s on the market, and I’m also curious about Christian Kirk from Jacksonville.”
These three players are from teams that are currently struggling. Adams is almost certain to be traded, with the Raiders seeking a second-round pick in return. However, his cap hits exceeding $36 million over the next two years complicate the trade, as he prefers to join either the New York Jets or New Orleans Saints to reunite with former quarterbacks Derek Carr or Aaron Rodgers.
Regarding Hopkins, he could be a solid addition for the Steelers. The former All-Pro signed a two-year contract with the Titans last offseason and has recorded ten catches for 121 yards in Tennessee’s 1-3 start. After dealing with a knee injury during the summer, he now seems healthy.
The Steelers could likely obtain Hopkins for a late-round pick, and his physical style of play would complement George Pickens well.
