Breaking News: Oilers reportedly confirm the release of another experienced player

The veteran forward, who has played 745 games in the NHL, was released by the Oilers on Sunday morning, concluding his professional tryout with the team.

The 34-year-old joined the Oilers’ training camp roster 12 days ago. During his time, he recorded one goal and three assists with a minus-2 rating over four exhibition games, averaging 15:27 of ice time. Last season, Hoffman tallied 10 goals and 13 assists in 66 games with the San Jose Sharks.

The fifth-round pick in the 2009 NHL Draft spent seven seasons with the Ottawa Senators, the team that selected him, before playing for the Florida Panthers, St. Louis Blues, and Montreal Canadiens.

Over his NHL career, Hoffman has recorded 228 goals, 259 assists, and accumulated 267 penalty minutes.
