HUGE BOOST: Five-star Super Talent commit to Tennessee

Tennessee has excelled at recruiting from Georgia, and one of their key targets and commits in the 2025 class is Travis Smith Jr. from Westlake High School near Atlanta.

Smith is a four-star wide receiver, standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 210 pounds, who pledged his commitment to the Vols in July. He is one of three current wide receiver commitments and is the highest-rated among them.

In a recent interview with Tennessee on SI, Smith shared updates about his recruitment and his commitment. “My season has been going well. We’re quite young, so I’m fortunate to take on a leadership role as we face various challenges. We’re currently at .500, and I actually thrive on these challenges,” Smith noted.

He also expressed his enthusiasm for his commitment to Tennessee, stating, “I love it. I stay engaged with every game and talk to the coaching staff regularly.” Despite interest from schools like Auburn and Georgia trying to recruit him, he remains firm. “I focus on my commitment and respect the process, even though I get approached frequently. I really believe we have something special and historic at Tennessee, especially in the coming years,” he explained.

Smith plans to return to campus for the next home game against the Florida Gators in Knoxville. “I intend to be there for the next home game and a few others as well.” He also mentioned that he doesn’t plan to visit any other schools right now. “Nope. I’m really committed to Tennessee and don’t want to distract our class, even though I enjoy watching great football from other teams.”
