The 6-foot-5 combo guard from Huntsville, Alabama, chose Auburn over Virginia Tech and Iowa during a live announcement on 247Sports.
“I’ve built a strong relationship with the coaching staff over the past couple of years, and it’s closer to home,” Walker explained. “My parents play a big role in my decisions, and having them come to watch me means a lot. The connection with the coaching staff, the fit within the program, and the overall environment and culture at Auburn really appealed to me.”
Walker took official visits to all three of his finalists, but his experience at Auburn exceeded his expectations for a program.
“The environment, the fanbase, the energy, and the positive vibes at Auburn really stood out to me,” he said. “Everyone loves being there and enjoys the community. People don’t leave Auburn; they want to stay, build relationships, and call it home, which really appealed to me.”
Walker is the first commitment for Bruce Pearl in the 2025 recruiting class, bringing a high basketball IQ, great energy, and a skill set that includes the ability to hit deep shots.
“I’m just a guy who will make winning plays,” Walker said about what he will bring to Auburn. “I’ll be an amazing teammate, do whatever it takes for my team to win, and help continue the great culture they have.”
According to 247Sports Director of Scouting Adam Finkelstein, Walker is a skilled, tough, and intelligent guard with solid size and strength. He’s a proficient shot-maker, capable of hitting deep threes as well as tough pull-ups off the dribble. Standing at 6-foot-4, he has a strong physique that reflects his dedication in the weight room. Walker is competitive, possesses many intangibles, and has a mature approach to the game combined with a high basketball IQ. He moves well without the ball, can effectively come off screens in the half-court, and is an instinctive, hard cutter.
