The Denver Broncos just can’t seem to catch a break. Despite securing their first win of the season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3, they faced a setback with an injury to one of their top players.
Starting inside linebacker has a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season, as reported by Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team. The 30-year-old has been Denver’s leading tackler for the past two seasons, making his absence significant.
The Broncos have signed former Pro Bowl linebacker Kwon Alexander to their practice squad to help replace Singleton. Alexander had a standout season last year with 177 total tackles and a three-year deal worth $18 million. Despite Singleton’s impressive track record of four straight seasons with over 120 tackles, he hasn’t received much recognition. Now, the Broncos will need linebackers Cody Barton, Nik Bonitto, and Jonathon Cooper to step up. Their challenge intensifies as they prepare to face Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets on the road in Week 4.
