Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren is dealing with a knee injury, as reported by team sources to PennLive. The initial report came from Dejan Kovacevic of DK Pittsburgh Sports. Head coach Mike Tomlin mentioned that Warren is being assessed after noticing he wasn’t performing well.
The severity of the injury remains uncertain, but it’s confirmed that he did not aggravate his existing hamstring issue. He will undergo further evaluations in the coming days. If he is unable to play, the Steelers will rely on Cordarrelle Patterson and Najee Harris.
Additionally, the Steelers faced injuries to three other players during the game against the Chargers: outside linebacker Alex Highsmith (groin), cornerback Cory Trice (hamstring), and wide receiver Van Jefferson (eye).
Warren is scheduled for an MRI, which he informed Kovacevic would take place after the game, allowing the team to determine the extent of his injury. Depending on the results, he may miss several weeks or could potentially return for next week’s matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.
