Edmonton Oilers' forward Evander Kane undergoes successful surgery; thanks doctors and nurses on social media

On Friday, Kane shared a post on Instagram, appearing in high spirits after the procedure, flashing a big smile and giving a thumbs up while posing for the camera.

Evander Kane has faced a series of injuries throughout his career, including cracked ribs with the Buffalo Sabres, an ankle issue with the Winnipeg Jets, and an undisclosed upper body injury during his time with San Jose. Despite these setbacks, he’s been a valuable contributor when healthy. With 66 goals in 161 games, he shows solid output for a power forward. If he can maintain a consistent and healthy routine, he would be a significant asset to the already formidable Edmonton Oilers.

Over his career, Kane has tallied 326 goals and 291 assists in 930 games, showcasing his talent. However, staying healthy has been a challenge; he has only played 75 or more games twice and has had multiple seasons with fewer than 60 games. His best season was with the Jets, where he scored 30 goals and provided 27 assists in 74 games, highlighting his potential if he can remain on the ice.

While it will take some time before Kane returns to play for the Oilers, and he won’t be placed on LTIR, the success of his recent surgeries is encouraging. This gives him a chance to get back on track and fulfill the potential that many believe he has.
