A 4-star offensive lineman from New Jersey and one of the top players in his position nationwide, Goodman, committed to Penn State’s 2025 recruiting class on Tuesday. This commitment makes Goodman the highest-ranked offensive recruit for Penn State and provides a boost to their recruiting efforts following their opening victory over West Virginia.
Standing 6-5 and weighing 315 pounds, Goodman is among the most sought-after offensive linemen in the 2025 class. He visited Georgia, Alabama, USC, Auburn, and Penn State officially, and received offers from other major programs including Washington, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Pitt, and Michigan State.
Goodman was named a first-team all-state tackle at Paramus Catholic and started the season ranked as one of the top linemen in the country. He is ranked 8th nationally as an interior lineman by the 247Sports Composite and 188th overall in the ESPN 300.
Goodman’s commitment marks the second in two days for Penn State head coach James Franklin, who had been without a commitment for about a month. On Monday, 4-star receiver Matthew Outten from Virginia also chose Penn State, switching his commitment from Virginia Tech.
With Goodman’s commitment, Penn State’s 2025 recruiting class, now consisting of 25 players, is ranked 13th nationally according to the 247Sports Composite. Several prospects are expected to visit Penn State this weekend as the Nittany Lions face Bowling Green in their season opener at Beaver Stadium, with kickoff set for noon on Saturday on Big Ten Network.
