Week one was favorable for the Penn State football team, as they achieved a decisive victory over rival West Virginia on the road on Saturday. The positive news continued on Tuesday when four-star offensive tackle announced his commitment to the Nittany Lions. Goodman chose Penn State over other top contenders, including Auburn and USC.
Malachi Goodman has a short and sweet message for Penn State football fans not that he is committed.
“We Are!!” Goodman said.
Malachi Goodman, ranked #125 in the 2025 recruiting class by 247 Sports, is also the #6 interior offensive lineman (IOL) and the #3 player in New Jersey. Currently attending Paramus Catholic in Paramus, New Jersey, Goodman has drawn attention for his impressive skills and potential.
According to 247 Sports’ Hudson Standish, Goodman is described as a powerful offensive tackle who will likely move to the interior line in college. Standish notes that Goodman is the highest-rated recruit from Paramus Catholic since the school produced notable Top-100 players like Jabrill Peppers, Rashan Gary, and Drew Singleton in the 2010s. Standing around 6-foot-5 and 315 pounds, Goodman has a robust build with exceptional initial hand quickness, which translates to powerful blocking. He excels at moving to the second level to engage linebackers while maintaining his initial block.
Goodman’s reactionary athleticism is strong in pass protection, where he effectively counters speedier pass-rushers. His physical strength is supported by a personal best of 46-7.25 feet in the Shot Put as of Spring 2024. Despite being young for his class—he will enter college at 17—Goodman has some technical areas to refine but possesses the potential to become a versatile and impactful starter with significant NFL Draft upside.
