Huge Boost: HORNS UP! Texas Longhorns once again Beat Texas A&M and other SEC Rivals to land 5-Star Recruiting Target

The Texas A&M Aggies have once again been outpaced by an SEC rival in their pursuit of a five-star recruit.

A five-star safety for the 2025 class, announced his commitment to the Texas Longhorns on Saturday. The standout from Ball High School in Galveston, TX, chose Texas over finalists that included Texas A&M, Oregon, LSU, and USC.

Williams described Texas as “the perfect fit” during an interview on On3’s livestream.

Despite being contenders for five-star recruits like receiver Kaliq Lockett and offensive tackle Michael Fasusi, the Aggies lost both prospects to Texas and Oklahoma, respectively, in this recruiting cycle.

Williams visited College Station officially on June 7 and also toured USC (June 2), LSU (June 7), Ohio State (June 14), and Oregon (June 21) before taking an unofficial visit to Texas on July 25.

According to 247Sports, Williams is considered “one of the most exceptional athletes” in the 2025 class. Hudson Standish of 247Sports noted that he is a “modern defensive chess piece” who can excel in various defensive roles and against diverse offensive strategies. He is expected to make an immediate impact at top college football programs with significant long-term potential.

In the previous season, Williams recorded 54 tackles (four for loss), one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries (one returned for a touchdown), eight pass breakups, and four interceptions, including three pick-sixes. He also scored four touchdowns on special teams (two punt returns, two kickoff returns).
