The Toronto Maple Leafs haven’t made any changes to their forward lineup yet, but there’s been a trade suggestion involving a former 30-goal scorer and two-time Stanley Cup champion. Using the PuckGM tool from PuckPedia, a user suggested a trade where the Maple Leafs would acquire Brandon Saad from the St. Louis Blues.

The proposed trade would strengthen Toronto’s offense by adding Brandon Saad, a two-time Stanley Cup champion, who has proven he knows how to win. Saad, in the fourth year of his five-year, $22.5 million contract, would likely slot in as the Maple Leafs’ first or second-line left winger. Last season, he tallied 26 goals and 16 assists for 42 points over 82 games. Saad was crucial to the Chicago Blackhawks’ Stanley Cup victories in 2013 and 2015 and had a career-high 31 goals in the 2015-16 season.
In return, the St. Louis Blues would receive a first-round pick, the major component of the deal, and David Kampf, who could serve as a bottom-six forward. Kampf, entering the second year of his four-year contract worth $2.4 million per season, played 78 games for Toronto last season, scoring 8 goals and 11 assists for 19 points.
Maple Leafs Looking to Add Left Wingers
Saad could play a crucial role for Toronto, as the Maple Leafs are actively seeking to strengthen their left wing. According to Sportsnet NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, Toronto is exploring various left-wing options to bolster their roster.
Friedman noted, “I think there are things percolating out there, including Toronto considering left-wing options.”
Additionally, free agent left-winger Max Pacioretty has been mentioned as a potential fit for the Maple Leafs by NHL insiders David Pagnotta and Nick Alberga.
Hearing same re Leafs/Pacioretty. This would be a SPC, not a PTO, if they agree to terms. https://t.co/CNJA8Y2KWR

Toronto’s need for a left winger has been heightened by Nick Robertson’s trade request. As a restricted free agent (RFA), Robertson has informed the Maple Leafs that he does not intend to re-sign with the team.
