Just In: Huge boost, Packers Surprisingly Acquire Young Quarterback in Trade With AFC Squad

The Green Bay Packers are trading for quarterback from the Tennessee Titans, as reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

In return, the Packers are giving the Titans a seventh-round pick in the 2025 draft. Willis is expected to take on a backup role behind Packers’ starter Jordan Love. Although Sean Clifford and Michael Pratt are also on the roster, Willis is anticipated to move ahead of them as the primary backup.

During his time with the Titans, Willis completed 35 of 66 passes for 350 yards, along with rushing for 144 yards and one touchdown. He appeared in 11 games, starting three, but only secured a 1-2 record as a starter, often relying on running back Derrick Henry.

Willis has shown potential but has struggled with accuracy, leading to a drop in his draft stock from a possible top-10 pick to the third round in 2022. His performance has been underwhelming compared to other 2022 quarterbacks like Brock Purdy, Kenny Pickett, Matt Corral, and Sam Howell.

With the Packers’ history of successfully developing quarterbacks like Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers, Willis will have the chance to refine his skills. The Packers’ season begins on September 6 against the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil, marking the start of a new chapter for Willis in Green Bay.
