The Alabama basketball program aims to build on its successful 2024 Final Four run by maintaining its strong presence on the college basketball recruiting scene.
Joe Tipton from On3 Sports reports that Meleek Thomas, a 5-star shooting guard from Overtime Elite in Atlanta and ranked as the No. 2 player in Georgia and No. 6 in the Class of 2025, will visit Tuscaloosa for an official visit the weekend of September 27. Thomas is also considering UConn, Arkansas, Auburn, Kansas, Pittsburgh, and Kansas State.
Additionally, Tipton mentions that Thomas will visit Arkansas the weekend of September 13. During his Tuscaloosa visit, Thomas will be joined by the nation’s top player, AJ Dybantsa, who will also tour the university and experience a significant football weekend with Alabama’s SEC opener against Georgia.
Following a highly successful Class of 2024, which was ranked No. 2 and included two 5-star recruits, Derrion Reid and Aiden Sherrell, Alabama’s coaching staff, led by Nate Oats, is eager to enhance its recruiting success even further with the Class of 2025.
