Serven began his college career at Illinois, where he played for three seasons and appeared in 18 games, contributing three points and seven rebounds. He was part of three NCAA tournament teams, including two that reached the second round in 2022 and 2023. During his time at Illinois, the team shared the 2021-22 Big Ten regular season title and won the 2021 Big Ten tournament as the No. 3 seed. Serven was also named an Academic All-Big Ten selection in 2022.

Coach Young’s comments on Serven:
“We’re thrilled to welcome Connor to our program. He brings a wealth of experience, a strong skill set, and versatility. He’s a dedicated player with high basketball IQ—exactly what we’re looking for. We’re excited to have him join us and continue his development.”
