‘Huge boost’ Iowa reportedly land commitment for another 5-star talented player to bolster squad depth

The Iowa Hawkeyes secured a five-star prospect for their 2025 football recruiting class.

The five-star prospect announced his commitment via On3’s Hayes Fawcett on X, formerly known as Twitter.

 

Iose Epenesa, brother of Bills first-rounder AJ Epenesa, sees massive rise  in 2025 recruiting rankings

 

Epenesa is ranked as the No. 42 overall player in the 247Sports composite rankings. He is also listed as the No. 5 defensive line prospect and the top player out of Illinois.

The 6-foot-4, 270-pound edge prospect from Edwardsville, Illinois, held 22 offers and chose Iowa over Oregon, Illinois, Utah, Michigan, Miami, Missouri, Penn State, Kentucky, and Texas.

Iose is the younger brother of Buffalo Bills defensive end A.J. Epenesa, who starred on the Hawkeyes’ defensive line from 2017 to 2019. A.J. recorded 11.5 sacks and 14.5 tackles for loss in his final season at Iowa before being selected by Buffalo in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
