Red Sox Make Multiple Roster Moves For Upcoming Fixture

The Boston Red Sox addressed some roster adjustments ahead of their series finale against the Texas Rangers at Fenway Park.

Red Sox's Jarren Duran Suspended for 2 Games After Using Anti-Gay Slur

On Wednesday, the Red Sox announced the reinstatement of All-Star outfielder Jarren Duran from the suspended list. Duran had missed the last two games as a penalty for using a homophobic slur in Sunday’s game against the Houston Astros. To accommodate Duran on the active roster, the Red Sox optioned infielder/outfielder Enmanuel Valdez to Triple-A Worcester after their win on Tuesday night.

Additionally, the Red Sox made changes to their bullpen. Cam Booser, who threw 20 pitches without recording an out on Tuesday, was placed on the 15-day injured list due to left elbow inflammation. Brennan Bernardino, another left-handed relief pitcher who was optioned to Triple-A on Monday, was called up to replace Booser.

The Red Sox will aim for their first series sweep since early July when they face the Rangers in the final game of the regular season. NESN’s complete coverage starts at 5 p.m. ET, with the first pitch scheduled for one hour later.
