BREAKING: Mississippi State beat four programs to land commitment for talented QB

3-star prospect committed to Mississippi State Bulldogs, becoming the fourth recruit for the 2026 class. Under first-year head coach Jeff Lebby, who previously served as the offensive coordinator at Oklahoma, the Bulldogs have made significant progress in recruiting, adding four players to the 2026 roster.

Lebby, known for his fast-paced offense and expertise in coaching quarterbacks, values players who can make plays with their feet, a trait that Johnson embodies perfectly.

State adds 2026 quarterback Michael Johnson

Hailing from Hampton, GA, Johnson has received offers from schools such as Cincinnati, UCF, Troy, and West Virginia. He is rated as a 3-star prospect by Rivals and ON3.

Standing 6-1 and weighing 175 pounds, Johnson still has room to develop as he enters his junior year. Despite this, he already demonstrates impressive elusiveness, speed, and the ability to make accurate throws while on the move. Johnson runs a modern offense at Dutchtown High School, which showcases his skills and prepares him for the collegiate level. His athleticism and playmaking ability align well with the requirements of Lebby’s offensive system.
