Quarterback Carson Beck, typically a model of consistency, finished the game 18-of-32 for 215 yards with one touchdown and two costly interceptions.
The turning point came in the third quarter when Georgia, leading 17-10, surrendered a 75-yard touchdown drive in just 1:48. Special teams also faltered, with a missed field goal and a botched punt return handing short fields to the opposition.
Head coach Kirby Smart, known for his fiery demeanor and meticulous preparation, was visibly frustrated on the sidelines.
