The Kentucky Wildcats women’s basketball team advanced to the Sweet 16 this season, marking their deepest tournament run in several years. They’re expected to be even stronger next season thanks to a talented incoming freshman class and key additions from the transfer portal. All-SEC center Clara Strack is set to return, and on Tuesday, guard Asia Boone confirmed she’ll be back as well.
Boone joined Kentucky during last offseason after spending her first two years at Liberty. She quickly became a starter there but chose to transfer following her sophomore season, ultimately landing in Lexington under head coach Kenny Brooks.

In her first year with the Wildcats, Boone played a significant role in the team’s success. She averaged 10.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game while shooting 36% from three-point range. Whether in the starting lineup or coming off the bench, she consistently delivered key plays and clutch shots.
Boone will once again be a key player for Kentucky. They will have a very young backcourt, and her veteran presence will necessary, especially early in the season. She’s a proven leader, and a talented player. Getting her back is definitely a win.
