BREAKING: Another Highly Rated Super Talent From SEC Power House Transfer To Kansas State Wildcats

Kansas State football bolstered its defensive backfield on Tuesday, securing a commitment from LSU transfer, the latest addition to the Wildcats’ aggressive transfer portal push.

A 6-foot-2, 195-pound cornerback, announced his decision via social media after visiting Manhattan last weekend. The rising redshirt sophomore entered the portal last week following a limited role with the Tigers, where he appeared in eight games last season, logging 12 tackles and a pass breakup.

Kansas State Adds Former LSU Transfer Forward Matt Gilhool

“Excited to join the K-State family and compete for championships,” Gilhool posted, tagging head coach Chris Klieman. This marks the Wildcats’ fourth portal commitment this offseason, joining transfers from Oklahoma State (WR Phillip Denzel-Baker), Colorado (LB Jett Bush) and Miami (OL Jalen Rivers). The moves address key losses, including All-Big 12 CB Jacob Parrish to the NFL Draft.

K-State, fresh off a 9-4 campaign and a Pop-Tarts Bowl win, aims to contend in the Big 12 race. Gilhool’s size and athleticism fit defensive coordinator Joe Bob Clements’ scheme perfectly, providing immediate depth behind starters Keenan Garber and Martez Harris.

Gilhool, a former three-star recruit from Houston, chose LSU over offers from Texas A&M, Arizona State and UCF. He has three years of eligibility remaining.

With spring practice underway, the Wildcats continue shopping the portal to build on their momentum.
