Giants quarterback Daniel Jones made history as the first QB since 1991 to throw a touchdown without registering any passing yards in the first half of Sunday’s game.

In a rare statistical occurrence, New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones recorded an unusual halftime stat line during Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders.

By halftime, Jones had completed 4 of 6 passes for precisely 0 yards, yet he still managed to throw a touchdown. According to NFL research, this makes him the first quarterback since 1991 to have zero or fewer passing yards and a touchdown pass in a half while attempting five or more passes.

The 3-yard touchdown pass to tight end Chris Manhertz was particularly significant for Jones, as it marked his first touchdown pass at home since 2022, giving Giants fans at MetLife Stadium something they hadn’t seen in nearly two years. However, despite this unique achievement, the mood was far from celebratory.

As Jones and the team left the field at halftime trailing 21-7, they were met with boos from frustrated fans. It’s evident that Giants supporters are still yearning for a more consistent offensive effort.
