A four-star prospect from the class of 2025, Brandon Finney has been committed to the Oregon Ducks since June. As the sixth-ranked cornerback in his class, he would be a fantastic asset to the Ducks’ already impressive defensive secondary.
However, On3 experts have recently reported predictions suggesting that Finney might change his commitment to the Penn State Nittany Lions instead.
Currently, the Ducks are ranked No. 9 in team rankings for their 2025 commitments, while the Nittany Lions sit at No. 15, according to 247Sports.
Finney isn’t the only cornerback committed to Oregon; fellow four-star prospect Dorian Brew is also set to join the Ducks next season.
Although Finney remains committed to Oregon for now, On3 experts estimate an 82.9 percent chance that he could reconsider and choose Penn State instead.
Oregon’s cornerbacks coach, Chris Hampton, has played a key role in Finney’s recruitment. Finney has visited the Oregon campus in Eugene three times and has had three home visits from Hampton and other Ducks recruiters.
Conversely, Finney has made four visits to Penn State over the past year and has received four home visits from the Nittany Lions’ recruiting staff.
Chad Simmons, On3’s Director of Recruiting, has logged a prediction that Finney will ultimately flip his commitment.
