With Andrew Thomas out for the season, the New York Giants are exploring replacement options. Currently, they intend to start Joshua Ezeudu at left tackle instead of Evan Neal, who remains focused on right tackle. While Neal could potentially shift to the left, that scenario seems unlikely.
Given that neither Ezeudu nor Neal is an ideal left tackle, head coach Brian Daboll indicated on Thursday that the team might consider signing a veteran tackle to fill Thomas’s role.
The offseason adjustments to the offensive line have now been rendered ineffective. Quarterback Daniel Jones has enjoyed better protection this season compared to previous Giants quarterbacks, but losing Thomas is a significant blow.
Daboll did not specify if any players are being evaluated for the left tackle position, but if the team plans to bring someone in, updates are expected soon.
