Several of Penn State’s committed players in the Class of 2025 saw notable changes in On3’s Industry Rankings on Wednesday, following updates from 247Sports.
All three of Penn State’s top recruits improved their rankings, with linebacker LaVar Arrington II making the biggest leap, rising 128 spots to No. 270 overall. The Covina, California native has recorded 22 tackles, 12 quarterback hurries, and 5.5 sacks in seven games this season. His performance has drawn attention not only from scouts but also from his coaches.
“You can really see the work he put in this offseason in the weight room,” said Charter Oak head coach Dom Farrar last week. “His motor and overall speed have improved. His short-area quickness and burst have always been exceptional, but he’s also become much more physical at the point of attack. When he hits the quarterback, it’s like watching a grown man play against kids. He’s just relentless and demoralizes them both mentally and physically.”
Kansas native Jayden Woods also had a notable rise, moving up 60 spots to No. 141 nationally. In six games for Mill Valley, Woods has excelled with 48 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and one interception, making him the second-ranked player in Penn State’s class, up from fifth.
Other significant changes include offensive tackle Malachi Goodman, who rose 23 spots to No. 108 nationally, solidifying his position as Penn State’s top recruit. Cornerback Daryus Dixson moved up 11 spots to No. 148, while wide receiver Lyrick Samuel climbed nearly 30 spots to No. 414. If Samuel breaks into the Top 400 before signing day, he will achieve four-star status.
