The Los Angeles Dodgers secured their spot in the NLCS with a 2-0 victory against the San Diego Padres on Friday. Following the game, Dodgers star first baseman Freddie Freeman expressed his excitement about the team’s performance throughout the series, according to MLB Network.

“Kiké was huge, Yamamoto, Teoscar adding on, Freeman said. Our pitching staff has … been absolutely incredible. This feels awesome.”

Freeman had a strong showing in Game 5 after missing the previous game in the series, hitting a line drive in his first at-bat but remaining stranded on base. The Dodgers’ pitching played a crucial role, along with Teoscar Hernandez and Enrique Hernandez, who each contributed solo home runs in a low-scoring matchup.

The Dodgers’ deep lineup helped propel the franchise past its postseason struggles. Yoshinobu Yamamoto struck out two batters over five innings, allowing only two hits. The team rallied behind his impressive start, and manager Dave Roberts effectively utilized four additional pitchers. If the bullpen maintains this level of performance in the next series, Los Angeles will prove to be a formidable opponent.
