The Edmonton Oilers have officially signed defenseman to a one-year, two-way contract, valued at $775,000 at the NHL level.
The 27-year-old joined the Oilers on a professional tryout agreement on September 10 and tallied one goal and two points in five preseason games.
Originally from Newmarket, Ontario, he played last season with the Arizona Coyotes, where he recorded two goals and seven points over 50 games.
He is coming off a one-year, $800,000 contract he signed with the Coyotes in July 2023.
Standing 6 feet tall and shooting left, Dermott was selected 34th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2015. Throughout his career, he has scored 16 goals and accumulated 62 points in 329 games with the Maple Leafs, Vancouver Canucks, and Coyotes.
