In a postgame interview, Smart expressed his disappointment with the fans and their subdued crowd noise during the game.

Blaming the fans after a comfortable victory is unusual, but it’s not the first time a high-profile coach has done so. A few years back, Nick Saban criticized his fans for leaving games early.
College football coaches thrive on fan engagement, which significantly impacts the game. Many college players struggle to adapt to a raucous home-field advantage since it’s not something they experience often, but it can be a game-changer when fans are fully invested.
Next week, Georgia will host Mississippi State, and hopefully, the fans will bring the necessary energy to avoid further criticism from their head coach, even though it might be challenging given that Mississippi State is currently one of the weaker teams in the sport.
