Steelers Announce Devastating News Following Loss To The Colts

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler:

Steelers starting guard  sustained an Achilles tear on Sunday against the Colts, according to sources. He will miss the rest of the season, which is a significant loss for the team’s offensive line.

He left after the sixth play of the Steelers’ offense in Week 4. CBS reported that the veteran guard injured his ankle and was initially listed as questionable to return.

Before halftime, the Steelers ruled him out for the rest of the game. This marks his third year with the team, and in his first two seasons, he missed only two games.

Steelers starting guard James Daniels out for the season with torn Achilles, per report

According to journalist Dave Holcomb:

During the 2022 regular season, all of the Steelers’ starting offensive linemen played at least 96% of the team’s snaps, contributing to a turnaround after a 2-6 start. While the offensive line is now more talented and deeper than two years ago, injuries continue to plague the unit.

Daniels was selected as the No. 39 overall pick in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears. He started 10 games in his rookie year and became a full-time starter in 2019. After four seasons with the Bears, he signed a three-year, $26.5 million contract with the Steelers, where he played every snap during the 2022 season.
