The Crimson Tide’s recruiting momentum has slowed due to the current NCAA dead period, but with five months remaining until December’s early signing date, Alabama has ample time to secure the final spots for its 2025 football class.
Alabama currently has 21 commitments in its 2025 cycle, ranking No. 2 according to 247Sports. While there are only a few scholarships left to offer, the Crimson Tide is targeting three high-caliber prospects who are poised to make an impact wherever they choose to play college football.
Akylin Dear, the top-ranked running back in the Class of 2025, announced that he will be committing on August 20. Hailing from Quitman, Mississippi, Dear was previously committed to Ole Miss but reopened his recruitment in June. Alabama has been actively pursuing him throughout the entire cycle, with both of its coaching staffs showing interest. The 5-star prospect rushed for over 2,000 yards and scored 27 touchdowns as a junior. He is currently considering Alabama, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State.
AJ Dybantsa, the top-ranked player in the Class of 2025, has announced that he will take an official visit to Tuscaloosa in September when Alabama hosts the Georgia Bulldogs in football. Standing at 6-foot-9 and weighing 200 pounds, Dybantsa has an impressive ability to score at all three levels, especially for a high school player. His length and skill set make him a perfect fit for Oats’ system, and he has significant one-and-done potential.
