BREAKING: New Jersey Devils reportedly confirm another super signing to bolster squad depth

The New Jersey Devils sign another super talent  to a three-year, $12 million contract.

Devils general manager Tom Fitzgerald announced that the 22-year-old will earn $3 million in the upcoming season, $4.75 million in the second year, and $4.25 million in the final year of the deal, 2026-27.

Last season, he recorded 20 goals and 13 assists while playing all 82 games. As a restricted free agent, he achieved a career-high of four power-play goals, averaging 17:13 in ice time.

He set a franchise record for the New Jersey Devils on February 25, 2023, by surpassing Scott Gomez for the most consecutive games played to start an NHL career, with 141 games. He has since extended that streak to 246 games and has not missed a game since his debut on October 15, 2021.

 

BREAKING: Devils Re-Sign Dawson Mercer to Multi-Year Contract

In his first three seasons, Mercer has tallied 64 goals and 67 assists, along with three goals and four assists in 12 playoff games.

Selected 18th overall by New Jersey in the 2020 NHL Draft, Mercer has also represented Canada at the IIHF World Junior Championships in 2020 and 2021, as well as at the World Championships in 2022 and 2024.
