BREAKING: Significant Setback, Oilers’ Key Player Withdraws from Program

The Edmonton Oilers are facing a significant challenge as one of their key players has withdrawn from the program. During the 2023-24 season, Gagner played for the Edmonton Oilers, where he scored five goals and added five assists in 28 regular-season games, with his final goal occurring on January 20 against the Calgary Flames.

Gagner was drafted sixth overall by the Oilers in the 2007 NHL Draft following an impressive junior season with the London Knights in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), where he notched 35 goals and 83 assists for a total of 118 points. He joined the Oilers at age 18, recording 13 goals and 36 assists for 49 points in his rookie year.

Between 2014 and 2018, Gagner played for four different teams: the Arizona Coyotes, Philadelphia Flyers, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Vancouver Canucks. During the 2016-17 season with the Blue Jackets, he achieved a career-high 18 goals and 50 points.

In his career spanning 1,043 regular-season games, Gagner has accumulated 197 goals and 332 assists for 529 points. Additionally, he has registered four assists in 11 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
