Georgia Tech made a significant move today to bolster their defensive line.
A defensive tackle transferring from Penn State, has announced his commitment to the Yellow Jackets on social media. He brings two years of eligibility remaining to the team.
This addition is a valuable boost to Georgia Tech’s defensive line. With some players having transferred out, the Yellow Jackets were seeking to strengthen a defense that struggled significantly against the run last season.
At 6’3″ and 310 pounds, van den Berg provides much-needed size. Under new defensive line coach Jess Simpson, who will aim to develop him into a versatile force in the middle of the defense, van den Berg is expected to compete for playing time right away.
