Texas A&M football aims to finish strong with their 2025 recruiting class. They recently welcomed a large group of top prospects for a game, and it looks like the excitement and environment are already making an impact.
Among the visitors was a defensive back from Bushnell, FL, who was previously committed to Georgia. The 6’2″, 190-pound safety had pledged to Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs in July.
Johnson is the 21st addition to the Aggies’ recruiting class, which now ranks as the eighth-best in the nation with potential for further improvement. Texas A&M is targeting some highly-rated prospects committed to other schools, such as Lamont Rogers, the talented offensive tackle committed to Missouri, who also visited Kyle Field last weekend.
If things go as the Aggies hope, Johnson might be the first of several recruits to flip their commitments. A strong season on the field could further boost these efforts, and if today’s developments are any indication, there’s renewed optimism compared to the previous week’s concerns over A&M’s performance in their opener.
Johnson joins a defensive back group that includes Adonyss Currie, Cobey Sellers, Deyjhon Pettaway, and Jamar Beal-Goines. This collection of players brings a significant amount of speed, a key attribute that Elko and his staff have specifically targeted in this recruiting class.
