Fans of the Memphis Grizzlies will have to wait at least three months before seeing one of their favorite players back in action. Forward GG Jackson II recently underwent a successful surgery to fix a fractured fifth metatarsal in his right foot. According to the Grizzlies, Jackson will be reassessed in approximately three months and is anticipated to make a complete recovery.
The team reported that Jackson sustained the injury during a contested layup while playing basketball outside Dallas on August 27.
Jackson was one of the few standout performers for the Grizzlies during the 2023-24 season, averaging 14.6 points and over four rebounds per game in about 25 minutes, according to ESPN. The team faced numerous injuries throughout the season, which led to more playing time for the 2023 second-round pick.
