BREAKING: Phillies Star Confirm To Sign Huge 6-Year, $171M Deal With Giants

The Toronto Blue Jays have reportedly reached an agreement with Dylan Cease, a move that could set the tone for the rest of the starting pitching market this offseason.

One of the next available arms who might be signed is Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Ranger Suárez. After a standout season, Suárez is expected to seek a contract of at least $150 million in free agency.

Jackson Roberts of Fastball OnSi recently predicted that Suárez would land a substantial six-year, $171 million deal with the San Francisco Giants.

“Because he gives up a reasonably high number of fly balls, Suárez could thrive in a big ballpark, and the San Francisco Giants have long been a paradise for pitchers with that batted ball profile,” Roberts wrote. “Plus, we know this Giants front office has no aversion to big-money deals.”

The Giants need to add pitching to their roster if they want to compete with the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West. The money shouldn’t be a problem this offseason, so a deal like this could make a lot of sense.

There’s a chance the Giants get caught up chasing a superstar like Kyle Tucker in free agency, but finding a deal with an ace like Suárez makes a lot more sense.
