Earlier this week, Auburn football experienced a setback when 3-star cornerback Dante Core decommitted and announced his commitment to Ole Miss under Lane Kiffin. However, that loss was quickly mitigated by a much more positive development.
Four-star cornerback Shamar Arnoux, from Carrollton, Georgia, announced his decision to flip from USC to Auburn.
Arnoux initially committed to Tennessee during his sophomore year of high school before switching to USC in June 2024. He visited Auburn for Big Cat Weekend and attended several games this fall. He cited the close proximity to home, the welcoming nature of the coaching staff, and the chance to play early as key factors in his decision to flip, according to Auburn Rivals.
With 28 commitments so far, Auburn’s 2025 recruiting class is currently ranked 5th overall.

In basketball news, senior forward Chaney Johnson helped lead Auburn to a big victory over Kent State on Wednesday, delivering his best performance in 35 games with 18 points off the bench, shooting 8-of-11 from the field. Despite coming off the bench, Johnson ranks as the Tigers’ second-leading scorer and rebounder, remaining a team player focused on winning.
Reflecting on his development, Johnson explained, “Last summer I came in with a bigger chip on my shoulder because I knew I had to fill the role Jaylin Williams left. I just trusted my work, focused on the shots I’ll get in the offense, and played with more confidence.”
The Tigers will return to action next Monday against North Alabama at Auburn Arena.
