The Jacksonville Jaguars are aiming to break a two-game losing streak when they face the Minnesota Vikings in Week 10. While the challenge will be tough—particularly if Trevor Lawrence is unavailable—the Jaguars might have an advantage in special teams.
Ahead of the matchup, Minnesota placed rookie kicker on Injured Reserve after he injured his groin in Week 9, sidelining him for at least four weeks. To fill the void, the Vikings have signed John Parker Romo.
Parker Romo, an undrafted free agent in 2022, has spent time with the Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints, but has yet to play in a regular-season game. He also had a brief stint with the Vikings during the offseason before being released in July.
However, Romo gained experience in the XFL last year, playing for the San Antonio Brahmas. Over the course of 10 games, he made 17 of 19 field goal attempts, including three kicks from 50 yards out—two of which were successful.
Meanwhile, like Jaguars kicker Cam Little, Will Reichard was drafted in the sixth round this year and has quickly provided his team with reliable play at the kicker position.
