Josh Allen Reacts To Receiver Injuries With Boldly Clever ‘Rock’ Message

The Buffalo Bills are leading the AFC East with a 7-2 record, and Joe Brady’s offense has been hitting its stride lately. However, the team is about to face a significant challenge in terms of receiver depth, as a number of injuries could keep key players out for their Week 10 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. Amari Cooper and rookie Keon Coleman are both nursing wrist injuries. Head coach Sean McDermott mentioned that the team is taking it “one day at a time” with Coleman, adding that his absence could extend beyond just this week. Curtis Samuel is also dealing with a pec injury but managed to play a limited role in the Bills’ 30-27 victory over the Miami Dolphins. Despite the possibility of missing both Cooper and Coleman on Sunday, quarterback Josh Allen remains unfazed.

“Throughout the season, that’s going to happen, that’s the name of the game,” Allen said on the injuries. “It’s not if you get hurt, it’s when you get hurt. …

“We rock with who we got, we do a good job in our offensive unit meetings and getting guys ready to go so, whatever the case is we’ll be prepared.”

Even if both Cooper and Coleman are unavailable for the Colts game, Josh Allen still has plenty of weapons at his disposal. He can rely on Khalil Shakir, Dalton Kincaid, Dawson Knox, and running backs James Cook and Ray David, all of whom are capable pass-catchers and can help keep the offense moving. Additionally, Allen’s own ability to make plays with his legs provides another dynamic weapon for the Bills’ offense. However, in a perfect scenario, Allen would have Cooper, Coleman, and even Samuel all available for the Colts game, especially with a tough matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs looming the following week.

Allen’s quiet confidence may stem from the fact that Joe Brady’s offensive system isn’t reliant on a single player to drive the team’s success. The “everybody eats” philosophy means the offense can spread the ball around, and Allen has a variety of weapons to rely on, even with the injuries piling up. This approach helps alleviate pressure when key players are sidelined, allowing Allen to stay calm and focused despite the adversity heading into the Indianapolis game.
