On Thursday, South Carolina women’s basketball received its first commitment for the Class of 2025. Five-star recruit pledged her allegiance to Dawn Staley and the Gamecocks during a ceremony at her school.
“I loved everything,” she said of South Carolina in an interview with VYPE Magazine after her announcement. “One thing important to me is I have to be happy wherever I go. I felt happy there. I was surrounded by great teammates and coaches. I felt comfortable. … I just loved it there.”
McDowell hails from Cypress Hill High School in Texas and is ranked 20th in the nation according to ESPN’s HoopGurlz rankings.
McDowell will be eligible to sign with USC starting on November 15, which marks the first day of the basketball signing period.
