The Ravens will be without their top returner for a minimum of four weeks, as Head Coach John Harbaugh announced that the star will be placed on injured reserve due to a knee injury. Harbaugh confirmed that he’s injury is not season-ending.
The Archbishop Curley graduate signed with his hometown Ravens this offseason and has returned eight punts for 85 yards over five games this year.
Harty missed Baltimore’s Week 5 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals due to his knee injury but returned to play last week against the Washington Commanders. He did not practice this week prior to being placed on IR.
“Harty is our guy, and we believe in him, and when he’s healthy and he’s the right place, we know he can be a difference maker for us,” Special Teams Coordinator Chris Horton said Friday.
With Harty out, the Ravens will likely turn to wide receiver Tylan Wallace for return duties.
“We have Tylan [Wallace] who can step in, along with other players who can serve as backups or even share return duties,” Harbaugh said.
Wallace filled in for Harty in Week 5 and was Baltimore’s primary returner toward the end of last season. He had a standout moment in 2023 when he returned a punt in overtime against the Los Angeles Rams for a walk-off win.
