BREAKING: Highly rated super talent leaves Auburn fans in tears as he commit to SEC rival

Auburn super talent has officially committed to the Mississippi State Bulldogs. With his addition to the 2025 class, Mississippi State has successfully flipped three players from their initial commitments.

A 4-star linebacker, surprised many when he committed to the Tigers on May 6, especially considering his strong ties to Mississippi State through his brother, TJ Lockhart, who is part of the 2024 class, and his Winona High School teammate, Fred “Fat” Clark, who also signed with the Bulldogs.

Given these connections, Lockhart seemed poised to join Mississippi State but opted to explore options at Auburn first. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound linebacker took an official visit to Auburn on June 7 and then visited Starkville two weeks later.

During his junior season, Lockhart showcased his talent with 100 total tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, and three forced fumbles. The Winona, Mississippi native has received multiple SEC offers, including ones from LSU, Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee.

Although it has been a challenging time for Mississippi State fans and coaching staff following a 1-2 start, there are signs of progress in the program. Recruiting is vital for building a strong team, and defensive coordinator Coleman Hutzler has recently secured two significant commitments.
