Heart-breaking: South Carolina Gamecocks fans confirm more bad news

South Carolina quarterback who had scored two rushing touchdowns, suffered an ankle injury just before halftime in the game against No. 16 LSU on Saturday. Sellers was taken down by Bradyn Swinson on the penultimate play of the half and hobbled to the locker room. Backup quarterback Robby Ashford, a former Auburn starter, stepped in for the final play of the half and continued as the quarterback for South Carolina’s initial drive in the second half.

Sellers delivered a standout performance in the first half, with touchdown runs of 4 and 75 yards—the latter being the longest ever by a quarterback in Gamecock history. He also passed for 112 yards, helping South Carolina to a 24-16 lead over the Tigers.

Gamecocks coach Shane Beamer said on TV at halftime that Sellers hurt his ankle. When asked what that does for his offense, he said, “It doesn’t help, but we have confidence in (backups) Robby Ashford and Davis Beville both.”
