The Indianapolis Colts fell 29-27 to the Houston Texans in Week 1, but quarterback Anthony Richardson demonstrated some promising potential with a few standout plays. Despite these moments, Richardson missed several throws and recognizes the need to improve his consistency with easier passes. He understands that refining this aspect of his game is crucial for reaching his full potential as one of the best quarterbacks.
“It’s like I talked about with Tom Brady,” Anthony Richardson said, via James Boyd of The Athletic. “He’s a freakin’ genius when it comes to football, and he made all of the throws, not just the exciting ones. I want to continue adding that to my game to go with the physical tools and everything else. Because if I put it all together, man… The world can’t stop me.”
Colts look for rebound against Packers in Week 2
In Week 2, the Colts will face the Packers on the road, with both teams coming off Week 1 losses. A key factor to watch for this matchup is Jordan Love’s availability, as he sustained a knee injury late in Green Bay’s defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles. If Love cannot play, Malik Willis will start for the Packers.
Regardless of the opponent’s quarterback situation, Richardson is aiming for greater consistency in the upcoming game. The Packers’ defense was effective in forcing early turnovers, but the Eagles’ offense ultimately scored a significant number of points in their Week 1 matchup.
