The Houston Texans have bolstered their quarterback depth ahead of the regular season.
With their roster trimmed to 53 players as the regular season approaches, the Houston Texans are now focusing on finalizing their practice squad for 2024.
On Thursday, the Texans signed quarterback Kedon Slovis to their practice squad. Slovis, who was recently waived by the Indianapolis Colts, has found a new opportunity in Houston.

Slovis concluded his college career at BYU, but began at USC before transferring to Pitt. Over his five-year college career, he amassed 11,689 passing yards and 80 touchdowns.
After going undrafted, Slovis joined the Colts and in preseason play, he completed 16 of 22 passes for 149 yards.
Adding Slovis could prove beneficial for the Texans. With backup quarterbacks Davis Mills and Case Keenum set to become free agents after this season, Slovis, at 23 years old, might position himself as a potential long-term backup.
Before a season-ending injury cut short his last year with the Cougars, Slovis had thrown for 1,716 yards and 15 touchdowns.
It will be worth watching how the quarterback situation unfolds, as Slovis could potentially move into a backup role in the future.
